Private Pilot Licence (PPL) Ground School - Build Your Flying Foundation

Our next PPLGround School runs January 13th - April 9th, 2026, at the Greater Sudbury Airport (CYSB).  Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9 PM.

No. You don’t need any prerequisite or prior training to begin PPL Ground School. Our course is designed for new pilots, and we’ll guide you step-by-step from the fundamentals to advanced concepts 

 $429 + HST

Training materials are sold separately and can be purchased as a complete kit or individually, depending on what you already have or prefer.

Available materials include:
• PPL textbooks
• Navigation charts
• E6B flight computer
• Plotters, rulers & exam reference guides

Materials can be picked up once you are registered.

Ground school is designed to be taken in person to ensure the strongest comprehension, engagement, and learning environment. Classroom participation, questions, and discussion play a major role in understanding the material — especially as topics become more advanced.

However, we understand that schedules can be demanding. A Zoom link will be available for students who are unable to attend certain sessions in person.

If you miss a class entirely, we will do our best to help you stay on track. Any lesson notes, handouts, or material covered during the session can be forwarded to you for review on your own time.

Please note that Zoom attendance is intended as a backup option — in-person attendance is highly recommended.
